WORLD • BOOK • DAY • 2026

We are delighted to share this year’s theme: THE GREAT CRAYON COMEBACK!

We are SO excited to celebrate The Day the Crayons Quit with a whole-school crayon takeover on Thursday 5th March!

Each class will represent a crayon colour — and we can’t wait to see St Gregs transformed into a sea of bright, bold brilliance

Class Colours are as follows:

Nursery – Pink

Reception – Purple

Year 1 – Red

Year 2 – Green

Year 3 – Blue

Year 4 – Black

Year 5 – Orange & Yellow

Year 6 – Beige & White

Children are invited to:

Dress in their class colour

Bring one small item in that colour to help contribute to a class colour hamper

Throughout the day, each class will take part in creative activities to champion their chosen crayon, celebrating its personality, strengths and story!

The day will culminate in a whole-school showcase, where classes will proudly present their learning — a fantastic display of oracy skills and our shared love of reading

We’re looking forward to a day bursting with colour, creativity and lots of laughter in order to celebrate the joy books can bring!
