Welcome to Year 5!
I am Miss Standen, and I have the pleasure of teaching Year 5 this year, supported in class by Mrs McWilliams. Together, we are excited to work with your children and guide them through this important stage of Key Stage 2.
Year 5 is a time when children really begin to flourish – becoming more independent, developing their confidence, and taking pride in their learning. We encourage them to take an active role in their education, to ask questions, to think critically, and to grow in both knowledge and faith.
Our curriculum this year is packed with engaging topics and memorable moments. We will travel back in time to study the Tudors, explore the powerful themes in Macbeth, and enjoy the wonder and music of The Lion King. There will be plenty of exciting projects, creative challenges and opportunities for children to express their ideas and talents.

Year 5 will do Rounders (Monday) and NFL Flag (Wednesday) in PE this term (Summer 1). For more information about PE kit requirements and expectations, please visit our uniform page.
